FLASH Repair Department

We are an authorized Baby Lock repair facility.

AND, we clean/maintain ALL other brands!
Singer, Jenome and Brother.

A general service/cleaning is recommended if you have a machine that notifies you that
a service is due or if you use your machine regularly during the year.  Many machines
count stitches and alert you just as an automobile would for an oil change.  To perform
up to your exacting standards, we recommend that you have the cleaning service
performed regularly.

Otherwise, it is a good idea to have you machine cleaned once a year.

We remove the covers, clean, lubricate and check settings on your machine.

If you have a machine that requires service during the warranty, please bring your
warranty and sales receipt.

TIPS and HINTS:
Before packing your machine up for a ride to the store, try
this first:

1.  Remove the thread (top and bottom) and re-thread.  Make sure the foot is in
th UP position, the take-up lever is in the highest position and the thread is
in all tension discs.  Needle should always be in the up position.

2.
Put in a NEW needle.  In many cases, the needle may not be in correctly, may be
bent or may have a burr on it.  Use good quality needles such as Schnetz.   Also, if your
thread is bunching up on the bottom you either have a tension issue or your needle is
to large.  Don't use a denim/leather (size 90) needle for cotton (even towels).  Try a
smaller needle to solve your problem (size 80).  Always put in a new needle before
assuming you have a service issue.  Even some needles are bad out of the package.
Change twice if necessary.

3.  Use good quality thread.
Use either Arifil or Florini....especially for embroidery.
4.
Clean your bobbin case every day before you start sewing.
ALWAYS us a quality bobbin thread and not a pre-wound bobbin.  Baby Lock
always recommends
FINISHING TOUCH thread for bobbin use. It's a quality thread
and is twisted to insure proper performance.   Be sure your "new" pre-wound bobbin is
NOT taller than the original bobbin that came in your machine.  It will drastically affect
your tension if it is a taller bobbin.
5.
Run you machine at a sensible speed, especially when embroidering.  I would
never set the speed any higher than medium.
6
.  Never wind one thread on top of another on a bobbin.  Be sure the bobbin
thread is wound properly.

IN SHORT:  YOU HAVE A QUALITY MACHINE..........
USE A QUALITY TREAD.......
TOP & BOTTOM.
DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME ON SERVICE CALLS AND DOWN TIME.

Check the instruction book if you're not sure about threading or how the needle goes in.

It is also best to check your Default Settings and be sure they are back to factory
settings.  The default settings are usually highlighted by a Black Background on the
Baby Lock machines.

These are the first things we check in the shop and it will save
you time and money.... if that is the problem.
