Hands on Class 2020 JANUARY 8TH To take part in this class each student MUST be able to stitch 6x10” or larger. The class does not allow for 5x7” hoops. Florida Shores Placemats: They will be making a placemat in the class. Each student can choose to either do the hibiscus design or the fish design. In this class all the pieces are made in the hoop and Santi will demonstrate how easy it is to complete the placemat using placement lines that are incorporated into the embroidery design. Wine bottle apron: In this class they will learn to create a wine bottle apron. The students will be able to choose from two or three design options. Grapes, Hibiscus or a lemon. We will use mylar on the design on the bottle apron. Wine Glass Coaster This is a wine glass coaster that goes around the stem of the wine glass. When created in different colors it can serve as a wine glass marker. The technique learnt here is working with water soluble stabilizer to create a freestanding design. They will also be using appliqué in this design. They will be appliquéing with power mesh. Chiffon Summer Scarf In this class they will learn how to embroider onto sheer fabric such as chiffon. We will also be using glitterflex in the design that will be embroidered onto the chiffon. The technique learned here is how to embroider on sheer fabric and the use of glitterflex otherwise known as heat transfer vinyl. |
You will have a choice of a fish design or floral design on the placemat and a choice of 1 of 3 different designs on the wine bottle apron. The wine or stemmed glass coaster is one design, as is the design for the chiffon scarf. Chiffon scarf design coming soon! |
